Pottery Barn’s City Mugs

Pottery Barn City Mug Review | The Rose Table

IMG_5538I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it! I’ve long been a fan of Pottery Barn’s relaxed style and, even during my tightest budget years post college, could always be seen perusing the sale corner and lusting after everything else. I proudly host dinner parties on the Emma dishes, serve drinks out of the Gabrielle pitcher, and find loads of Christmas gifts amongst their monogrammed mugs. It’s safe to say, I’m a huge fan of Pottery Barn. That still did not prepare me for the sheer joy I felt when I first saw the city mugs on the PB website.

The mugs come in San Francisco, London, Texas, Paris, and New York. We should scratch Texas from the list because first of all, that’s a state, not a city. The rest are cities! It also has a totally different look than the others. Being Texan, I would have designed it entirely differently.

The remaining four though are absolutely adorable. I love the hand drawn look of the city scenes. I got both Paris and London on sale for just $4.99 each. (I just checked: as of publication, the mugs are still on sale.)

What I didn’t expect is to love the shape as much as I do. I was in it for the sweet little city scenes! The mugs are just 3″ tall and it turns out, someone as clumsy as I am really ought to exclusively use short, stocky mugs. The wide base is so sturdy compared to my other coffee mugs. The handle is wide and comfortable, offering enough support without weighing on your fingers. (Honestly who needs that in the morning?)

Best of all, the city mugs are microwave and dishwasher safe. And they look adorable with Sunday brunch!
