“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”

I absolutely love the thrill of finding the perfect gift for my friends and family. I was so busy gift hunting that my gift guide is tragically later than I would have liked. Better late than never, right? Here are a few new gift ideas in no particular order.

Give the gift of travel with airline miles! At American Airlines, miles start at $30 for 1,000 miles and they give you bonus miles if you buy a certain amount. 1,000 miles might not fly you to Turks and Caicos but every little bit helps. I can’t imagine a more thoughtful gift for a travel lover than miles on their preferred airline. For the giver in your life…

Last year I gifted my mom with a baby elephant! Okay, sort of. I fostered Suswa in her name. My mom received regular updates on Suswa’s well being from the wonderful folks at The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya throughout the year. It really is the gift that keeps on giving! Plus every bit of that goes towards saving more elephants in Africa, a cause dear to my mother. Whatever your recipient is passionate about, make a donation in their name to show you support them. Make a few batches of fudge to give to your loved ones! Get my recipe for German Chocolate Fudge, Maple Walnut Fudge, and Peppermint Fudge. Each takes all of five minutes to make and uses less than five ingredients. Wrap in cellophane and tie with a bow.

For the sun lover in your life…

When my friend Yoli walked into my masquerade party with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot at my hostess gift, I bounced up and down. (I’m subtle like that.) She knows it’s my absolute favorite champagne. Whatever your friend’s favorite drink of choice, go big! Years ago I gifted my rum-loving brother a bottle of Captain Morgan’s Private Stock for Christmas, a tradition that his wife carries on to this day. Whatever you might normally take to someone’s house, kick it up a notch for Christmas. After all, tis the season!
