Don’t knock a veggie platter even at the fanciest of gatherings. Why? So many party dishes are rich and cheesy that many guests welcome some raw veggies to lighten things up. Paired with doctored up hummus and ranch (my homemade tzatziki would be wonderful too!), this is an easy thing to put together.
I served this at my Cinderella Ball and had numerous guests thank me for having so many healthy options on the table. It was held in January, after all! Don’t feel like you need to have a bunch of cheesy, rich appetizers. You’re serving dessert so it’s a better balance to have lots of vegetable appetizers, lean meats, and a beautiful spread of raw veggies and dips.
I worried that guests wouldn’t touch the radishes and endive but this entire plate was gone by the end of the night.
Thank you to my grocery partner Tom Thumbfor supporting The Rose Table and this recipe! It’s partnerships like this that keep The Rose Table ad-free.
I was so impressed with the organic vegetables that I picked up at Tom Thumb, especially the gorgeous tomato medley. What’s better than fresh, crisp veggies? Also, please note the Hidden Mickey made of radishes.
