Lavender Latte

Lavender Latte

I want to be one of those food blogger who plans out photo shoots but I’m not. I made this heavenly latte this morning, snapped a couple of pics in the garden, and came straight in to write up the recipe for you!

I’ve been having such a lavender moment. Once you invest $10 in a giant bag of culinary lavender and have it sitting in the pantry, it’s like a little temptress with its siren call. I went into the pantry to get cinnamon, saw its lavender-hued bag sitting there, and the next thing you know, I’m having a mini photo shoot in the yard.

I recently taught a workshop on how to make lavender sugar. It’s very simple and is so fun to have on hand! Learn how to make lavender sugar here and keep a jar in the pantry to impress house guests next time they come over.

As for the latte foam, I have an automatic milk frother gifted to me by my mom (thanks, mom!) for Christmas one year. There are handheld frothers that are quite inexpensive. Just heat the milk up first and froth away.

Serves 2 (or me in the morning)
2 cups strong brewed coffee
1/2 cup 1% milk
2 tsp lavender sugar
Culinary lavender for garnish

  1. Pour milk into automatic frother and froth on warm setting.
  2. Spoon a teaspoon of lavender sugar into two cups. Pour coffee over sugar and stir. (Strain lavender buds if desired.)
  3. Top with frothed milk and culinary lavender and enjoy!

Have a lovely morning,
