It’s the Great Pumpkin (Village), Charlie Brown

Dallas Arboretum Pumpkin Village

It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Dallas Arboretum! I finally got to see this year’s annual Pumpkin Village display and it did not disappoint. This year’s theme is “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” with your favorite Peanuts character taking over the pumpkin village. I had a blast exploring it with some friends.

This is the fourteenth year of the beloved pumpkin village, which has received national recognition the past few years. Over 90,000 pumpkins make up the village, which includes a multitude of fun photo ops. Over 3,000 ears of corn and 1,500 corn stalks offer autumnal ambiance. A fifteen-foot Great Pumpkin topiary stands in the center of the village and is filled with 4,500 quarts of Marigolds. (Garden goals, am I right?)

One of my favorite displays is the Lucy topiary, which offers “Garden Advice” in a ten-foot pumpkin house.

The Peanuts gang schoolhouse sure put a smile on my face! I love that you get to walk inside the pumpkin village structures.

Twenty-four varieties of pumpkins are used to make the displays. I love how the Dallas Arboretum includes a section with pumpkin education so you can see all the different types of pumpkins.

There’s even a highly photogenic pumpkin patch. That’s right – you can buy a pumpkin at the Arboretum to take home!

Even outside of the Pumpkin Village, the Dallas Arboretum is decked out with pumpkins galore.

While there’s never a bad time to visit the Arboretum, Fall at the Arboretum is definitely my favorite. I hope you have as much fun exploring this year’s Pumpkin Village as I did! Dallas Arboretum is open from 9 am to 5 pm. The Pumpkin Village runs through October 31, 2019. For more information, visit dallasarboretum.org.

  1. […] One of my favorite events at Dallas Arboretum is the the Pumpkin Village at Autumn at the Arboretum. The annual fall festival has over 100,000 pumpkins and gourds and is consistently named one of the best things to do in the south for a reason. It’s amazing! What’s better than strolling through a gorgeous garden? Strolling through a gorgeous garden with incredible pumpkin houses and photo ops of course! This year’s theme is A Fall Fairy Tale. Sign me the heck up! The event will showcase the iconic Cinderella Carriage (photographed above in 2020) as well as gourd-eous displays inspired by Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Little Pigs, The Sword in the Stone, and more. The festival runs September 17-October 31, 2022. Read about past Pumpkin Village events here, here, and here. […]
