Thanksgiving Table Inspo

I’ve never hosted Thanksgiving but last year, my mom put me in charge of the table and it was so pretty, I thought I’d share it with you today to serve as inspiration for your own holiday table. We serve all of the food on the dining room sideboard – not on the table – so I styled two huge floral arrangements for the centerpiece. There were orange lilies, yellow roses, red roses, purple mums, white mums, red alstroemeria, and more.

I arranged the flowers (which my sister-in-law Heather picked out!) in two short, wide vases interspersed with a few slender white taper candles in acorn holders. The colors really pull from my mom’s gorgeous fall tablecloth.

I love these soft maize-colored napkins (I’m biased, I suppose, because I got them for my mom for Christmas the year prior) but we only had four I decided to mix and match! The four center place settings have the yellow napkins and the two ends have a lovely burgundy napkin. Don’t be afraid to use another color for the ends. I think it adds interest to the table. People don’t necessarily think of a soft yellow accent for Thanksgiving, but I think it looks lovely with burgundy and brown.

I just love this tablecloth because it really captures the colors of our Thanksgiving food! We usually have turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, mac ‘n’ cheese, and stuffing.

One thing my mom loves to include on a table that I think is so darling is a chocolate turkey at each person’s place. Isn’t that friendly? We are very loyal to See’s Candies (my mom’s Californian after all!) and I look forward to this turkey every year.

Lastly, I have to give a shoutout to one of my favorite wines ever, Le Mistral Viognier from Folktale Winery. I so enjoyed this with Thanksgiving dinner!
