Green Point Seafood & Oyster Bar

Lobster Roll Green Point

I’m officially obsessed with Green Point Seafood & Oyster Bar in Dallas. My parents and I went yesterday to celebrate my mom’s birthday and we could not have been more impressed.

Green Point is located on Knox Street, one of our favorite areas in the whole city. Knox Street is full of great restaurants, bars, and tons of fantastic stores like Weir’s Furniture Store, Pottery Barn, and Sur La Table.

The Dining Room

My friend Sarah Blaskovich highly recommended Green Point when I asked her for a restaurant with spacious tables. Nothing annoys me more than being packed into a restaurant like sardines. I didn’t get a great photo of the dining room but the spacious booths were exactly what we wanted!

The cozy green and brown dining room is beautifully appointed with nautical decor. There’s a gorgeous piece of artwork featuring the owner’s South African hometown and the name of the restaurant, Green Point, in the dining room. Even the bathroom is lovely!

The Starters

With a plethora of cold appetizers like a crudo plate and lobster plus hot appetizers such as warm crab and artichoke dip and oysters rockefeller, it was so hard to choose starters. We settled on the smoked whitefish dip with housemade chips and tuna tartare on toast.

My dad took one bite of the tuna tartare and declared it the best thing he’s ever eaten. Quite the compliment, especially from a seafood snob like my Seattleite dad!

Both dishes are absolutely incredible and complex. I really could have eaten two orders of the tuna tartare in one sitting!

The Sides

We ordered one caesar salad and the marbled potatoes with lemon aioli to share and wow, they’re both fantastic additions to any meal. The caesar comes with white anchovies and delightfully crunchy breadcrumbs and the potatoes…well I’m going to dream about those potatoes.

The Mains

Green Point has a fantastic menu full of grilled seafood, seafood pasta, gumbo, and more. My dad loved his fish and chips and my lobster roll hit the spot but it was my mom’s crab cake that really stole the show!

Dessert

We were quite stuffed by this point but seeing as it was my mom’s birthday and they offered her a dessert, we decided we could squeeze in a couple bites of Green Point’s Lemon Bar.

Finally, a restaurant who can make proper meringue and not that mile-high foam most serve. It tasted like an old fashioned lemon icebox pie and we ate the whole thing!

This will definitely be the first of many trips to Green Point Seafood & Oyster Bar. If you love seafood, you must go ASAP and try the tuna tartare!

Happy eating,
