Have summer travel on your mind? Me too! I’m off to Nevis in the West Indies this week but first I wanted to talk about some summer travel ideas.
St. Croix
I’m so excited to stay at The Buccaneer on St. Croix this summer! There has never been a better time to visit the US Virgin Islands. 2017 is the 100th anniversary of the US acquiring the Virgin Islands and to celebrate, the USVI is offering $400 in spending credits to be used for dining, shopping, and activities around the islands. Book before June and travel between June 1 – October 31 to take part in this sweet Centennial deal: https://www.visitusvi.com/plan-events/packages-promotions. Don’t forget to like and follow The Rose Table on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to explore St. Croix with me this August!
Camden, Maine
This idyllic seaside village is a storybook gem! Home to one of my top five favorite restaurants in the country, Natalie’s, Camden is a great foodie town with an abundance of fresh lobster. Burn off all those lobsters rolls with a charming hike on Mount Battie overlooking Camden Harbor or a stroll through the shops in the village. If you go, you have to get a cappuccino at Zoot Coffee to enjoy on the rocky Maine beach. As I’m writing this, I’m thinking I might need to write a retrospective Camden travel guide. Stay tuned!
San Francisco
My mama’s hometown is near and dear to my heart! I never need an excuse to eat Californian cuisine but especially not with flight prices like this! Visit the Fisherman’s Wharf, eat a sundae at Ghirardelli Square, explore Muir Woods, and marvel at the Golden Gate Bridge. I haven’t been since I was a little girl but San Francisco is high on my travel list!
New Braunfels
I had the best time in New Braunfels last week! I want to go back this summer to go tubin’ down the river. Stay at Comal Inn, eat an epic (an authentic) German dinner at Alpine Haus, enjoy the architecture and history, watch local artisans craft leather goods at Ludwig and Margin Leather, and spend the day hanging out at Landa Park.
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
Lake Louise was a bucket list travel destination of my mom’s and highly recommend EVERYONE have it on their bucket list. The stunning water has to be seen to be believed. Canoe on Lake Louise, explore the hiking trails and waterfalls of Banff National Park, and eat fondue on a mountain overlooking the glorious Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Read my Lake Louise travel guide here.
