How fun are mason jar desserts? I can’t get enough of them! I make them frequently but this is only the second version to appear on The Rose Table. Maybe this summer I’ll remember to post more flavors for you!
This one is particularly easy to make because you use leftover crumbled cookies for the base. Just crumble the cookies, spoon the cheesecake mixture over the cookies, top with pillowy whipped cream, and pop in the fridge until ready to eat. The only difficult part is remembering to pull the cream cheese out early. Cold cream cheese does not blend well so promise me you’ll open the package and set it on a plate for at least an hour before you begin!
I came up with this recipe for Disney Dinners: Tangled because I wanted some sort of mason jar dessert to serve in a boat a la I See the Light. I incorporated cookies because Rapunzel is shown baking chocolate chip cookies during her solo, When Will My Life Begin. I think Rapunzel would approve of this delicious dessert!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake Jars
Six chocolate chip cookies (get my recipe here), plus more for garnish
1 cup heavy whipping cream
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
Whipped cream (recipe follows)
Chocolate chips for garnish
- Whip heavy whipping cream in a chilled bowl until stiff peaks form.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth. (Make sure cream cheese is completely softened before you start. Cold cream cheese does not incorporate correctly.) Mix in sugar and vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in whipped cream until incorporated.
- Crumble cookies in the bottom of each jar. Divide cheesecake mixture amongst the six jars. Spoon whipped cream right on top. Garnish with chocolate chips. Chill for at least two hours or overnight.
Whipped Cream
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
- Whip ingredients until soft peaks form. Pipe or spoon onto cheesecakes.
