How to Make a Boulder for an Indiana Jones Party

Indiana Jones Party Ideas

Wondering how to make a boulder for an Indiana Jones party? You’ve come to the right place! I’m so incredibly proud of this homemade boulder. I wanted something simple and inexpensive that would pack a lot of punch as party decor, something that everyone could easily replicate.

You only need three things to make this boulder: a hula hoop, butcher paper, and lots of tape. You heard me! All I did was use a $10 kids hula hoop as my base, crinkle up three large sheets of butcher paper, and tape them in place. I was going to stuff the boulder but it didn’t need it. It has stayed perfectly in tact for weeks and it looks incredible!

I started with two sheets on the edge, wrapping the edge of the butcher paper around the hula hoop and taping it in place. I didn’t even use fancy tape – just regular ol’ Scotch tape. I then added a third piece in the center and voila, a boulder that took 15 minutes and about $15 to make.
