Glinda Punch with Edible Bubbles

Glinda Punch with Bubbles

This sparkly pink punch celebrates Galinda with a Ga, also known as Glinda the Good Witch. Glinda Punch can be alcoholic or none alcoholic – it’s delicious both ways! Most notably, I served this delightful sparkling strawberry punch at my Wicked Ball with edible bubbles.

Sorry in advance for the sheer number of photos. I was just so enchanted by this drink! It’s so fun to play with and photograph.

Glinda Punch with Bubbles

These bubbles turn to smoke when they pop, making them a fantastic safe alternative to dry ice in drinks if you want a smoke effect.

You heard me! My sister-in-law got me a culinary smoking gun for Christmas last year not knowing that it would be the star of the show. I worried it would be too complicated to pull off during the party but it was actually pretty easy! We were makin’ bubbles all night long.

Glinda Punch with Bubbles

I used the Homia smoking gun + bubble mixture for this effect. You can buy both things on Amazon for less than $100 (affiliate links below!) and not only can you make adorable Glinda bubbles, but also infuse food and drinks with culinary smoke. So fancy!

How clear or white the bubbles appear depends on how many wood chips you use. Which look do you like better?

The bubbles last for quick a long time: we’re talking 3-5 minutes. Much longer than you’d expect! You can pop it or wait for it to burst into smoke. I hope you have as much fun with these as we did.

As for the punch, it couldn’t be easier! Just combine strawberry lemonade with ginger ale for the nonalcoholic version or add gin (Still Austin Naturalist is my favorite!) for an adult version. The color looks a little funny in some of the photos due to the lighting at the party but trust me, it’s pink!

How to Make Drink Bubbles

Homia smoking gun (buy on Amazon here)
Homia bubble mixture (buy on Amazon here)
Lighter

  1. Fill glasses quite high with punch. A v-shaped glass works best, such as a martini glass.
  2. Pour a little bubble mixture in a small, shallow dish.
  3. Add two pinches of wood chips to metal cavity of the smoking gun.
  4. Turn on the smoking gun (low setting).
  5. Use a lighter to light the wood chips.
  6. Turn the smoking gun to high.
  7. Wait until hose is smoking, then dip the end of the hose into the bubble mixture until bubble starts to form. Slowly pull the hose up and it should start forming a bubble. Quickly but gently place the bubble in the center of your drink. Sowly move the hose away.
  8. Note: the hose will immediately start another bubble, so have a bunch of glasses fill and ready to receive bubbles!
