Gooseberry Fool

Gooseberry Fool

Looking for the world’s easiest Snow White-themed dessert? You found it! This quick and easy Gooseberry Fool is beyond delicious.

In the original Disney movie, Snow White bakes a gooseberry pie. Well sadly we don’t have gooseberries in Texas but I was able to prime myself some incredible gooseberry jam from a company who’s been making it since the 1800’s and y’all, it is delicious.

Gooseberry Fool

Gooseberry tastes a bit like a hybrid between mango, apricot, and kiwi. What’s a fool, you ask? A fool is an English dessert that’s basically just fruit stirred into whipped cream. For instance, I make a delicious Strawberry Fool in the summertime. But in a pinch, you can also use jam!

I served this adorable little dessert at my Snow White Tea Party with shortbread cookies for texture and a sprig of mint from my garden. It looks so simple but it’s incredibly flavorful!

Gooseberry Fool

1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup gooseberry jam
Optional: shortbread cookies for serving

  1. Beat heavy cream with a metal whisk in a metal bowl until it starts to thicken.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and continue to beat until soft peaks form. Do not over mix! Gently fold in jam.
  3. Garnish with a shortbread cookie and cookie crumbs.
