I recently had the pleasure of previewing Passport Germany at Central Market and let me tell you: they nailed it. This is their 15th year doing a themed passport event and of course German food is my jam so I was really excited to see what they had in store.

The team went all out with almost a mini food and wine festival so that we could try tons of the products: cheeses (get the Alp Blossom!), cold cuts, butter, yogurt, sausages, pretzels, Berliners, wine, and my personal favorite: Germany chocolate!

Central Market spent 18 months traveling around Germany, tasting and looking for best of the best to import for this event, which runs September 10-23 at all ten Central Market stores. They’ve imported 143 Germans brands and over 500 new items in store, most of which had never been in the US before so this is really the next best thing to hopping on a plane.

In addition to all of the imported goods there will also be a bunch of delicious items made in store from recipes the team learned abroad like Sauerbraten und Käsespätzle (both delicious!), which will be found in the ready made section which means you don’t even need to know how to cook to enjoy delicious German food. And you absolutely MUST get the Bienenstich Kuchen, aka bee sting cake.

I squealed when I saw my name on Lebkuchen! Yes, you can customize your very own Lebkuchen during this event for a truly authentic German treat. Huge thank you to Central Market for hosting me. I can’t wait to shop Passport Germany this month!
