Love my incredible Chocolate Chip Cookies? Then you’ll love this holiday version with red and green M&Ms! The best part? There are chocolate chips in the dough too. Why choose?

The key to these Christmas M&M Cookies is to pull them out when they’re still a little soft in the middle and let them finish with the residual heat from the cookie sheets. You’ll get the best cookie texture that way.

These would be equally adorable with a mix of white and dark chocolate chips, or even a white chocolate drizzle. You can of course reserve some M&Ms for the top for extra pop but they’re perfectly cute as-is.

This is the perfect cookie if you’re looking to spread some family-friendly holiday cheer! These are sure to please little elves and look so cute on a Christmas cookie plate.

Christmas M&M Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup mini Christmas M&Ms
Sea salt for sprinkling on top
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- Cream together butter and sugars in a stand mixer until combined.
- Scrape down sides of mixer. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Slowly mix in dry ingredients until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and M&Ms. Optional: reserve some for the top if you want the colors to “pop” more.
- Roll cookie dough into large balls (exactly 24!) and place twelve on two cookie sheets. Sprinkle each cookie with sea salt.
- Bake for about 8-10 minutes and pull them out when they are browning on the edges but still slightly wet and puffy in the middle. Do not over bake! Let cool completely on the cookie sheets, about fifteen minutes.
