It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!”
I adore Christmas. It’s the one time of year when other people suddenly listen to music from the 1940s and have dessert every night! My loyal readers know me well enough to know that’s my life every day but there’s something special in the air during the holidays. Now that Christmas is upon us, it’s time to pour some eggnog and focus on spreading a little holiday cheer. Here are my top gift ideas for Christmas 2015 in no particular order:
For the foodie in your life…
Order a variety of gourmet salts (read all about my love of fancy salt here), oils, vinegars, and more from East Texas treasure Clara Ida Frances: claraidafrances.net. Fun sea salts elevate any meal and, as a bonus, what are the odds that your friend or family member has stumbled upon this wonderful shop? Clara Ida Frances carries their own brand of products and they’re all Rose Table approved!
For the chocolate lover in your life…
Vosges Haut-Chocolat offers an array of unique chocolate bars and treats. My personal favorite is the Black Salt Caramel Bar, which would be a perfect stocking stuffer. Divine! Vosges is the Lexus of chocolate and absolutely worth a try. Shop Vosges here: www.vosgeschocolate.com.
For the gardener in your life…
Order a monthly, six month, or annual subscription to Grow Journey by Tyrant Farms: growjourney.com. This is the gift that keeps on giving year round! Five packets of seasonally appropriate, USDA certified organic seeds will arrive at your friends or family members’ door every month and they’ll think of you when they reap the rewards.
For the homebody in your life…
Rewined turns trash into treasure by filling old wine bottles with natural soy wax for long-lasting candles. There’s something so gorgeous about the rustic design of this candle, which first caught my eye at Clara Ida Frances (see above). You feel good about burning them. Buy them here: www.rewinedcandles.com.
For the wanna-be farmer in your life…
Anything from Beekman 1802! I think I’ve purchased every single one of their cookbooks for my mama. The best part? They’ll sign each and every one! I especially love their soaps, Mortgage Lifter pasta sauce (the only canned pasta sauce I’ll buy), and their goat tote, which you can get with or without cookbooks. Shop all Beekman 1802 here: shop.beekman1802.com.
For the cook in your life….
This book is a barrel of fun to look through. Written by a New Zealand chef and TV personality, Free Range Cook Simple Pleasure by Annabel Langbein could double as a travel book! Buy it here: http://amzn.to/1kIrnxE.
For the Paris dreamer in your life…
Though I’ve never met her, I consider Mireille Guilliano a dear friend because I’ve been reading her lovely books about Parisian delicacies and the French way of life for a decade now. She writes novels that happen to include delicious French recipes. I have all but one of her books and find myself rereading them every couple of years. Buy them here and get lost in the magic of France: mireilleguiliano.com/books.
For the champagne lover in your life…
What could possibly be classier than gifting a bottle of Veuve Clicquot? If you’re in a rush before a holiday gathering, grab a bottle of Veuve Clicquot at a local market and tie a ribbon around it. Trust me, the recipient will be beaming and won’t even mind if it’s not wrapped!
For the art lover in your life…
After taking a test to discover your tastes, Art Crate curates original artwork for you to fill your home with beauty. Subscriptions start at just $22/month. You can choose to get them framed or not depending on how much you want to spent. The best part? They include a card about the artist who painted your masterpiece! Use the promo code CHRISTMAS20 to get 20% off your first month. Subscribe now: artcrate.co. Gift cards are available if you want to stick one in a stocking!
For the cocoa lover in your life…
Mix together the first four ingredients of the Best Homemade Hot Cocoa and gift in a jar with a darling mug from Anthropologie or Pottery Barn. Both brands have fantastic mugs!
For the game lover in your life…
My family loves board games so much that my brother has had articles about board games published by national publications. He even went on television last week to talk about it! Read his full board game gift guide here: roguewatson.com/boardgames. Ticket to Ride is a personal favorite of mine.
For the organic lover in your life…
Gift a subscription to Rodale’s Organic Life. Its pages are filled with gardening tips and healthy recipes. Subscriptions make great presents because the recipient will think of you year round!
