I strongly recommend making your own tzatziki. It only takes a few minutes. Get my tzatziki recipe here. You find dolmades at many grocery stores in the deli section where you fill up containers with olives and peppers. You can of course make them yourself but at an event like Disney Dinners: Hercules, where I served this mezze platter, I was already making seven things so I went ahead and purchased dolmades. If you want to make your own, here is my recipe.

When it comes to arranging a pretty platter, you want pops of color throughout. I separated the reds (tomatoes and red peppers) and the darks (dolmades and olives). It’s a bit like doing laundry now that I think about it! Jazz up store bought hummus with paprika or red pepper flakes and drizzle a bit of olive oil over it. Add fresh oregano sprigs for colors and you’re done! So simple.

Greek Mezze Platter

Mezze Platter
1 cup hummus
1-2 cups tzatziki

1 block feta cheese
1/2 cup kalamata olives
1 cup marinated artichokes
1 cup cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup roasted red peppers
8 dolmades
Pita bread
Oregano sprigs

  1. Arrange everything on a platter right before serving. Enjoy!

I hope you love this Greek mezze platter as much as my friends did. Read more about Disney Dinners: Hercules here. Watch the video highlights:

  1. […] I truly could eat dolmades every day. This fun Greek dish can be eaten warm as an appetizer with some of the pan juices spooned on top, room temperature, and even cold straight out of the fridge. They’re delicious with freshly squeezed lemon or tzatziki sauce and are perfect for a mezze platter. […]
