My friend Morgan and I ate at Xetava Gardens Cafe on our first night in the greater Zion area. Xetava (pronounced Zay-Tah-Vah) is located ina charming art village in Ivins, Utah close to our resort, The Inn at Entrada.

Kayenta Art Village has several shops and galleries and beautiful desert xeriscaping to wander around before or after your meal. Xetava has indoor and outdoor seating. The courtyard was busy, even for August, but we opted for dinner inside since we’d been out in the heat. With string lights and cliff views, the courtyard was a sight for sore eyes!
Xetava serves thoughtful dishes made from locally sourced, organic ingredients. Once just a coffee shop, Xetava is still known for its coffee drinks and baked goods so save room for cookies!
We started with a chilled beet salad and olive tapenade with lavash. The beet salad was phenomenal: creamy goat cheese paired with candied walnuts, fresh greens, golden beets, and a balsamic reduction. It was also easily big enough for two to share.
For dinner, Morgan got the green curry mahi, a creamy and spicy dish with tropical vibes. My lemon dill salmon was divine. Wild caught salmon was served swimming in a lemon cream sauce with baguette toasties to lap up the sauce.
I also have to highlight the Royal Lemonade Supreme. I’m not much of a lemonade person but I had a feeling that Xetava had a great glass of lemonade and I was right. The frozen drink has coconut and mint and was extraordinarily refreshing on a hot summer night.
The chilled chili chocolate was too spicy for me, but Morgan didn’t get much heat from it. It’s served in a sweet little teacup and isn’t too heavy. You could easily squeeze one in after dinner! The cookie sandwich we got to go was my favorite of the desserts we tried.
We went back for breakfast later during our trip but were sadden to see that the breakfast menu is only served during the weekend. We did however grab pastries (a strawberry scone for me and an apple danish for Morgan) and coffee before strolling around the shops at Kayenta. For more information about Xetava, visit xetava.com.
