What a magical dining experience Cliffside Restaurant provides! With sweeping views of St. George, impeccable service, and the best pasta I’ve ever tasted, Cliffside Restaurant is not to be missed during your trip to the Greater Zion area of Utah.

My friend Morgan and I are still raving about our Cliffside dinner days later. We dined at Cliffside Restaurant on our final night at the Inn at Entrada before taking in Disney’s When You Wish at Tuacahn Amphitheater. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with dark wood floors, lots of plants, and walls of windows to highlight the view. You can sit outside under a pergola on the patio but it was a warm August day so we opted for a corner table inside.

We started with gazpacho and a watermelon feta salad to start, both refreshing and light on a hot summer day. The gazpacho, a special that day, had avocado slices and chunks of mango and tasted a lot like Texas salsa. The watermelon feta salad consisted of large hunks of balsamic watermelon slices with a side green salad with feta and pomegranate arils.
For dinner, Morgan ordered the Four Cheese and Pear Pasta and I had the Almond Crusted Idaho Trout. My dish got better and better with each bite. The flavor profile is quite complex between the cranberry sauce, pesto farro, and beurre blanc. The combination doesn’t sound like it would work but it does. The trout itself was also perfectly cooked. I ate almost every bite and felt fantastic all night because it’s such a healthy dinner!
Now we have to talk about the Four Cheese and Pear Pasta, also known as The Rose Table’s Favorite Pasta. I know that’s a strong statement but wow. Wow! The pear and cheese pasta purses are unbelievably tantalizing. Morgan said, “Whomever came up with this pasta…I want to shake their hand.” The roasted tomato cream sauce is divine and you’ll want to mop up every bit of it with your garlic crostini (or with the delicious bread served at the start). I cannot say enough wonderful things about this pasta. She topped hers with shrimp. You could add salmon or chicken if you prefer.
Now for dessert. You must save room for dessert! The desserts are a nice size; you could easily eat one yourself or split one even if you’re stuffed. The molten chocolate cake has a thick lava center that tastes exactly like hot chocolate. Served with vanilla bean ice cream, it’ll delight chocolate lovers.
A chocolate lover myself, imagine my surprise to discover that the cheesecake is my favorite! The lilikoi cheesecake tastes like vacation on a spoon. The passionfruit cheesecake is topped with marscapone and a raspberry coulis. The texture is dreamy.
The staff was notably wonderful. It’s a family-owned restaurant and the manager mentioned that the family eats there easily five days a week. I love that because you know they’re serving up great food that they believe in! I hope I didn’t gush too much in this article but what can I say? I’m a huge fan of Cliffside Restaurant. If you visit, be sure to tell them that you read about Cliffside on The Rose Table!
