Disney’s Frozen 2

I was honored to attend Disney’s Frozen 2 premiere in Dallas on Tuesday night. I had such a wonderful time at the premiere with my friend Meggie! I wanted to tell you about it ASAP but as many of you know my week was derailed. Frozen 2 is officially out in theaters and I want to talk about it now!

Frozen has a special place in my heart because Frozen was my very first Disney Dinner. Before seeing the movie myself, I’d read numerous reviews claiming that Frozen 2 was better than the original. I was skeptical because I rarely like the second movie better than the first. I have to agree with the reviewers. Instead of feeling like a sequel, this feels like the story that was supposed to be told and Frozen was the prequel.

The overarching theme of Frozen 2, in my opinion, is that you have to find strength within yourself but you should also accept help from the people who love you, a message I desperately needed to see on Tuesday.

“Take a step, step again
It is all that I can to do
The next right thing”

Anna’s song The Next Right Thing may not stick in your head like Let It Go but it’s one of the most beautiful messages I’ve ever heard in a song. It’s right up there with Colors of the Wind.

I am such an Elsa. I knew that after the first movie. It is my nature to want to be alone in my ice castle and I am grateful that I have surrounded myself with Anna types who refuse to let me do that. The minute the credits rolled, Meggie turned to me and said, “Well I feel like I just watched your autobiography!” I don’t want to spoil any plot points by telling you about Elsa’s new sidekick but let’s just say, I approve.

I have to give a shoutout to Kristoff, who only gets more wonderful in this movie. During a perilous scene, he races up to Anna on Sven and instead of questioning her decision making, he says, “I’m here. What do you need?” Hello, dream man! Kristoff might have just beaten Shang for my favorite Disney man with that line.

Run, don’t walk, to see Frozen 2 in theaters this weekend and be sure to catch my Frozen cooking segment on Good Day Fox 4 tomorrow morning! I was thrilled when Good Day called and asked if I would make a Frozen treat on air. I made The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway Hot Fudge Sundae, because some sundaes are worth melting for. Watch the segment here:
