King Cake Doughnuts

I just love Mardi Gras. The colors, the jazz, the food…what’s not to love?! King Cake is a classic Mardi Gras cake that usually has cinnamon and vanilla with a glaze and plenty of colorful sprinkles. I’ve recreated that here with King Cake Doughnuts!

These doughnuts are baked in the oven using doughnut pans and they come out incredibly soft and moist. Plus, this is a one bowl recipe! Just whisk the dry ingredients together, then pour in the wet and give a stir. You can make the batter before your oven even preheats. So easy!

I am delighted to tell you that I’ve successfully converted my Chocolate Doughnuts recipe to a vanilla-cinnamon version for you here. The texture is perfect and I think these absolutely capture the spirit of King Cake.

I decorated some with multicolored Mardi Gras sprinkles from Fancy Sprinkles and some with gold, green, and purple sprinkles, which is more traditional for King Cake. No matter how you decorate this, I hope you love this recipe.
