There ain’t no party like a Mardi Gras party! I love any holiday that centers around food so of course, I adore Mardi Gras. Bring on the creole cuisine! Here are some of my favorite Mardi Gras recipes.
The Rose Table’s Gumbo
You can’t have Mardi Gras without gumbo! My chicken and sausage gumbo is famous for a reason: it’s packed with flavor and turns out perfectly every time. Do NOT skip the okra. It absolutely makes it! Get the recipe here.
Hurricanes
This is one of my favorite cocktails! My Hurricane recipe is inspired by Lafitte’s in New Orleans, the oldest bar in the country that serves up the BEST hurricanes. Get the recipe here.
King Cake Cupcakes
The perfect end to any Mardi Gras celebration! These cinnamon cupcakes have a creamy filling and festive sprinkles. Get the recipe here.
Chargrilled Oysters
Use gulf oysters for a truly New Orleans experience! Get the recipe here.
Bananas Foster Layer Cake
I turned one of my favorite New Orleans desserts into a cake! This cake is so good that I actually made a friend because of it. I took this cake to a friend’s crawfish boil and my now bestie Kat walked all over the party looking for “the girl who made that cake.” She found me and we’ve been friends ever since, even taking a girl’s trip to Disneyland together. Get the recipe here.
Bananas Foster Milkshake
Words cannot even capture how delicious this milkshake is. With rum, caramel sauce, and bananas, this milkshake is downright epic! Get the recipe here.
French 75
Ahh, one of my favorite cocktails. My recipe is inspired by Arnaud’s in New Orleans. With fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, cognac, and Moet, this drink is an absolute winner. Get the recipe here.
King Cake Doughnuts
These festive cinnamon doughnuts are so easy to make! Get the recipe here.
