If you follow me on Instagram, you are well versed with the lake life my family enjoys at my parents’ lake house in east Texas but I rarely talk about the lake here on my website. My friend Sarah came to visit me from Los Angeles and we took her out to the lake this past week. I thought you guys might enjoy the sunset lake views!

If Texas does one thing really, really well, it’s sunsets and there’s no better way to see them than on a boat. I just love watching the sky turn pink and the reflection of all the colors on the water. Plus, the lake is rarely crowded around sunset so even on a holiday week like this, we practically had the lake to ourselves! Is this how you picture Texas?
No make-up, no problems. With rosé and cocktails in tow, we cruised around looking at houses and enjoying the unseasonably cool breeze. I was *almost* chilly by the end of the cruise; it was hard to believe it’s July in Texas! I can’t say I’m ever chilly on the boat in the middle of the summer here.
We have some really spectacular houses on the water! Everything is bigger in Texas, right?
It was such a nice night. I hope you enjoyed this little sunset cruise around east Texas! Comment and tell me if you’ve ever been on a Texas lake.
Love it? Pin it!
