There’s just something so refreshing about a mint chocolate chip milkshake! This classic flavor is a soda shop favorite for a reason: it’s delicious! I wrote this up for two milkshakes but the recipe easily halves for a single shake and doubles/triples easily to blend up shakes for the whole family.
Obviously my milkshakes are white because I used Tillamook mint chocolate chip ice cream, which is white. If you use a white mint ice cream and want green Shamrock Shakes, just add a few drops of green food coloring.
I always top milkshakes with my fabulous homemade whipped cream. It takes literally 1-2 minutes to make and adds so much! If you don’t want to pipe it, just spoon it right on. So good!

Mint Chip Milkshake
Serves 2
6 scoops mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 cup milk
Serving suggestion: whipped cream (recipe follows), fresh mint, green sprinkles
- Combine mint chocolate chip ice cream and milk in blender until smooth. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with fresh fresh mint and green sprinkles.
To make homemade whipped cream, whip 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream in a metal bowl with a metal whisk until soft peaks form. Whisk in 2 Tbsp powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Spoon or pipe on top of milkshakes.
Happy blending,
