The Dallas Arboretum sure is a sight for sore eyes this time of year. Spring has sprung at the Arboretum and it’s never looked better! Today kicks off the 39th year of Dallas Blooms, which has rightfully been named one of the best floral festival in the nation by numerous publications. It’s not to be missed. The garden dazzles with a sea of color from tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, pansies, and more.

Over 500,000 spring bulbs, thousands of azaleas, and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees fill the 60-acre property, making this the largest floral festival in the southwest. Wherever you turn, there’s a fabulous new view to sooth your soul. It’s impossible to be in a bad mood strolling around the Arboretum during Dallas Blooms!

My friend Sydney and I had the most fabulous day bouncing around our Dallas’ own little Wonderland, meandering through the garden. The cherry blossoms have already started to come in and are literally buzzing with excitement. Soon the azaleas will start blooming and even more tulips and spring bulbs will open so try to go a few times throughout the spring to catch everything.

This year there are also six living flower wall installations (could that be more Rose Table?!) set up throughout the garden. They make the perfect backdrop for pictures!

After walking around for over an hour, we settled at Restaurant DeGolyer for lunch. I’ve had tea here many times but I’ve actually never sat down for lunch! It was a perfect day for lunch al fresco. I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon Nicoise salad and sauvignon blanc in the garden and we even split a delicious bourbon pecan pie. Does Friday get any better?!

Dallas Blooms is presented by Amegy Bank and runs February 24-April 8. Admission ranges from $10-$22. Learn more information about Dallas Blooms here.
