4th of July at the Lake

Fireworks at the lake

I’m always saying I’m going to write more about the lake, so here is your 4th of July at the lake recap! We spent lots of time in the water, playing games, and eating delicious food. The highlight of the weekend of course was the spectacular fireworks show on the water!

Beach Time

My friend Hope and I spent much of the weekend lounging on the beach and swimming in the lake. This year my parents got a lily pad, a large floating mat that’s anchored in front of the beach. It’s so friendly to lay on! I started a new beach read and Henry even got to hang out on my chaise lounge one breezy evening. The best boy!

The Food

We kept it super simple this weekend. We did paninis for lunch and a mixed berry breakfast casserole in the mornings. For dinner on Friday night, I made my famous lobster rolls with buttered brioche that was first seen at my Jaws pool party. On Saturday night, we grilled up delicious bacon cheeseburgers.

I also baked whimsical 4th of July cupcakes with a festive red, white, and blue swirl. I also whipped up my Deep Water Cocktail on night one and a Prosecco twist on my Star Spangled Punch.

The Fireworks

One of the most magical aspects of Independence Day at the lake house is the epic fireworks show over the lake. Everyone takes their boat out on the water and oohs and ahhs as the show is reflected on the water. It’s absolutely breathtaking!

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Independence Day! Huge thank you to my mom for hosting a fabulous holiday.

See you on the boat,
