Bridgerton Garden Party

Bridgerton Party Ideas

I don’t know about you but I couldn’t be more excited about the new season of Bridgerton. It’s just such a Rose Table show! In every scene they’re either playing croquet, having tea, driving a horse-drawn carriage, having a picnic, or attending a ball and, well, that’s just a normal Saturday here at The Rose Table!

To celebrate the latest season, I hosted the Bridgerton garden party of my dreams. And yes, I arrived in the episode via carriage driving my Friesian horse Wendy. What a dream! Here’s how I hosted my Bridgerton party, recipes and all!

Thank you to my grocery partner Kroger for supporting The Rose Table and this recipe! It’s partnerships like this that keep The Rose Table going.

The Table

Unlike many of my dinner parties, I set up a buffet full of tea time treats in the garden so that my friends could help themselves to the food whilst playing croquet. I styled the table with the stunning Canton tablecloth from Williams-Sonoma. The minute I opened this beauty on my birthday, I knew the antique rose tablecloth would be perfect for a Bridgerton party.

I included lots of silver touches (largely found at local antique stores and Thrift for Good) and taper candles to give the table more of a Regency Era feel. I used as much silver and real cut glass as I could for the serving pieces to impress the Ton!

Society Papers & Signs

I wrote my own Society Papers and had it printed and framed on the table. Don’t worry if you can’t read it here – Lady Whistledown herself narrates the papers for us in the Bridgerton episode of The Rose Table! I also printed and framed the Bridgerton party menu and displayed it on the buffet table. Shoutout to my friend Sydney for helping me with this!

Anamieke at Enchanted Farmhouse also made this fabulous Spill the Tea wisteria sign custom for my party. I love it so much, I think I need to find a permanent place for it in my dining room, since that’s where all of my friends come to spill the tea!

The Flowers

I’m so glad that I rewatched Bridgerton before throwing this party because I remembered a key element: more is more where it comes to Bridgerton. The floral arrangements in the show are often enormous and colorful. I chose a mix of white hydrangeas, green carnations, pink roses, and yellow roses (plus some greenery that came with the roses), an arrangement I thought Ms. Featherington would approve of.

I styled the flowers in colorful vases, one antique green vase I’ve had for over a decade, and one lovely pink vase I picked up at Kroger along with the flowers. (Best flower department in town!)

Other Decor

I hung a chandelier from a tree to add a bit of sparkle and set my other outdoor table with a simple white tablecloth and lantern.

I pulled out my fabulous rose wall and set it up as a purple wisteria photo op. In addition, I hung white wisteria along the fence. I also used a couple of huge faux floral arrangements around the table. Learn how to make your own rose (er, wisteria) wall here.

And last but not least, the garden setting was perfect for this party! I was so touched that my friends kept walking around sniffing the roses, photographing the azaleas, and asking me about every plant. Read about the roses that were blooming for Bridgerton here.

The Music

Looking for the perfect Bridgerton party playlist? I got you, girl! I created the Spotify playlist of my dreams. This mix of classical pop will you have feel like you’re living in your very own Bridgerton episode. You’ll find violin versions of hits by Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, and more. Listen to here.

The Drink

I truly couldn’t be more proud of my creation for this party! Meet the Diamond of the Season Punch. I did hours and hours of research on Regency Era punch recipes so that you don’t have to. Many were a mix of green tea, simple syrup, brown liquor such as brandy or rum, and champagne, and fruit.

My Diamond of the Season Punch is a mix of homemade pineapple syrup (easy, I promise!), green tea, amaretto, elderflower liquor, orange bitters, champagne, and gold prism powder so that it quite literally sparkles like a diamond. Get the recipe here.

Fun fact: it turns out that pineapples were all the rage in Regency England, the ultimate show of wealth. Why? A single pineapple, imported from the Caribbean, could cost $8,000 in today’s money. People could even be seen promenading about with a pineapple under their arm just to show off that they had one! So including pineapple in this drink couldn’t be more perfect. It’s truly a drink fit for a diamond!

The Food

This might be my favorite party menu to date! Even though this wasn’t technically a tea party, tea is so prevalent in the show that I decided to serve an array of tea time treats and eats.

Garden Party Salad

Garden Party Salad

I am thrilled – thrilled – with how this gorgeous dish came out! What could be more extra and more Bridgerton than a salad with berries, pistachios, goat cheese, and edible flowers? It’s as delicious as it is beautiful and truly the ultimate garden party salad. Get the recipe here.

Tea Sandwiches

I made three tea sandwiches served together on a tiered serving platter: Lemon Lox (lox, whipped cream cheese, and a bit of lemon zest on white bread), Cucumber Boursin (thinly sliced cucumber and Boursin cheese on honeywheat), and Tarragon Chicken Salad served in adorable phyllo cups. Get these recipes here.

Spiced Honey Cream Cheese

Spiced Honey Cream Cheese

I wanted to incorporate honey in both a sweet and savory dish since bees are so very Bridgerton. (Morbid, I suppose but hey, the imagery is there!) I added a bit of cayenne to honey, then poured it over a block of cream cheese and served it with crackers. The best part? I garnished it with delicious honeycomb and a sprig of mint. It was a hit at the party! Get the recipe here.

Lemon Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Shortbread cookies are so very old fashioned and perfect for tea. I thought lemon lavender would be the perfect Bridgerton flavor. These soft, buttery cookies are ten times more delicious than the look! Get the recipe here.

Assorted Chocolates

If there’s one thing I learned from Ina Garten it’s that you don’t have to make every single thing. I seriously flipped out when I saw that Kroger carries chocolate dipped honeycomb. Are you kidding me!? It was perfect for a Bridgerton party and beyond delicious! I also served milk chocolate caramels and dark chocolate truffles.

Fresh Fruit

I served a bowl of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries and a bowl of pink pineapple. You heard me! My friends were delighted to see pink pineapple on the table. I squealed when I saw the internet famous fruit at Kroger!

Honeybee Cupcakes

I baked Fiori di Sicilia (orange vanilla) cupcakes and topped them with a delicious honey buttercream to create these Honeybee Cupcakes. I topped them with adorable bee-themed cupcake toppers. What must Lord Anthony think about this dessert? What a scandal! Get the recipe here.

Chocolate Strawberry Cake Roll

I thought a cake roll was terribly old fashioned and suited the time period! Frankly, I don’t know why I haven’t been making cake rolls for every party. I made this weeks ahead of time, popped it in the freezer, thawed it the night before. Then all I had to do was sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and serve it with berries. It was truly the star of the show. Everyone loved it! Get the recipe here.

Croquet

I’m a lifelong fan of croquet and since they play the game in the show, you know I had to play a round with my friends. In fact, I bought a brand new set for the party! Isn’t it gorgeous?

I grew up playing croquet with my family and have long loved playing with my friends any time the weather is nice. (Which in Texas is quite often.) Croquet really is the finest lawn game because you can play whilst sipping champagne. If you’ve never played before, I highly recommend it! It’s the perfect Bridgerton garden party activity. (I came in third, by the way.)

The Fashion

Last but certainly not least: a Bridgerton party is not complete without Regency outfits! I wore a comfy white and pink floral dress, an heirloom pearl choker, pearl earrings, lacy gloves, a blush-colored feather fascinator (they wear so many hats in the show!), and carried a white lace parasol.

Shoutout to my lovely friends for understanding the assignment and looking absolutely incredible. The fashion is part of the fun of the show and was certainly part of the fun of the party! Could Mama Rose Table be any cuter in her lavender look?! And Lady Dell with her fabulous hat?

I hope this inspired you to host your very own Bridgerton party! Comment and tell me which character is your favorite and what you think about this menu.
