Popcorn Drift Rose

Popcorn Drift Rose

I’m obsessed with my Popcorn Drift Rose! When I saw the name, I thought it was referring to the color but this mighty floribunda literally looks like popcorn in the garden!

What is a drift rose?

I adore my drift roses. These short ground cover roses are covered in blooms for six solid months. They’re never not blooming! Drift roses are known for their hardiness, repeat blooming habit, and compact size. They make a fabulous low hedge when planted in a row. Honestly, I think I need the entire collection in my garden!

Traits

This small but mighty rose is known for its beautiful white-yellow blooms and extreme disease resistance. This little workhorse pumps out a constant stream of roses from spring through frost. Popcorn Drift Rose is extremely hardy. In fact, this rose hasn’t had any blackspot, which rages through my garden after spring storms.

Blooms & Color

The Popcorn Drift Rose blooms really couldn’t be cuter. These blooms range from creamy white to buttery yellow and have a unique shape that makes them literally look like popcorn. They’re so adorable, I can’t even stand it.

Size

The compact size of all drift roses makes them easy to fit into a garden. Popcorn Drift Rose only gets about 18″ tall and 2″ wide but still packs a ton of punch with ample blooms all season long.

Care

This little cutie is suitable for zones 4-11 and needs full to thrive. I care for my Popcorn Drift Rose the same way that I care for my other roses! I prune in the winter, fertilize in the spring and fall, and water with seaweed fertilizer once a month. Read my full article about How to Grow Roses here.
