Chicago Peace

Chicago Peace is hands down one of the best roses in my garden. This stunning problem-free hybrid tea rose has showered me with enormous blooms all season long. Here’s everything you need to know about the Chicago Peace Rose!

Traits

Lightly perfumed with a citrusy scent, this show-stopping rose has glossy green foliage, strong stems, and massive bleeding pink blooms. It’s also a bleeding rose, meaning the center of the rose is a different shade than the outer petals. Bleeding roses just so happen to be my favorite and Chicago Peace does NOT disappoint. It’s also an excellent cut flower!

Disease Resistant

This rose is extremely hardy and disease resistant. It’s even one of the only roses in my garden that didn’t struggle with blackspot (my biggest issue) AND kept blooming in the heat of the summer, when most of my roses are in recovery mode.

Blooms & Color

These beautiful blooms are enormous. Photos barely do them justice! At a whopping 5″ wide, they’re larger than my fist! The pink color ranges from salmon to coral to Barbie with hints of yellow. The blooms often start out softer pink and darken the long they’re open.

Size

You definitely need some room for this epic rose. Chicago Peace can easily grow six feet tall and four feet wide so plan accordingly. In just two years, mine has easily reached 5+ feet tall!

Care

This rose thrives in zones 4-9 and needs full sun to thrive. I care for my Chicago Peace the same way that I care for my other roses! I prune in the winter, fertilize in the spring and fall, and water with seaweed fertilizer once a month. Read my full article about How to Grow Roses here.
