I swear I’m going to start blogging about the lake more often. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I frequently spend weekends out at my mom’s lake house but I don’t blog about our lake life nearly enough so here you go! Shortly after hosting my shark pool party, Henry and I packed up and headed out to the lake for a beachy lake weekend.

Evening Cruise
I arrived on Sunday after Independence Day so we waited to take the boat out until most of the weekenders had left and the lake was calm again. It was such a lovely day, we were able to cruise around without changing into our swimsuits. This is noteworthy for July in Texas! We even had some leftover “shark” popcorn from my Shark Pool Party to eat on the boat.

Beachin’
After our boat ride, I decided to watch the sunset with Henry on our little beach. I took the last pitcher of my Deep Water Cocktail leftover from my Jaws party and enjoyed a glass (or two!) with my toes in the sand. Is there a better way to enjoy Sunday?!

Seadoo Ride
On Monday, I largely worked (I’m boring like that) but I did take a break for an hour for a Seadoo ride with my dad. We rode all over, looking at all the new construction happening around the lake. Other than that, I was pleased to have the lake view while I worked.

Pineapple Pork Skewers
I made my Pineapple Pork Skewers for the Bachelor in Paradise premiere. ‘Tis the season after all! You might recognize this delicious dish from Disney Dinners: Moana. Grilled pineapple hits the spot every time! We also enjoyed the last of the Shark Cupcakes leftover from my Jaws-inspired party. Even at five days old, they were still delicious.

Dinner at the Marina
It was a dark and stormy day on Tuesday but that didn’t stop us from heading to the marina for dinner and my goodness, were we glad we braved the rain. The caprese dip is out of this world and the pesto pasta with chicken did not disappoint. We even got some cheesecake to go and it hit the spot!

It was a lovely little trip to the lake. I’ve barely made it out this year but I hope to make up for that the rest of this summer.
