Dinner at Lakeside Restaurant

Tanglewood Lakeside Restaurant Review

Nestled near the base of Tanglewood Resort’s iconic Tower Whiskey Bar sits Lakeside Restaurant, an old-fashioned steakhouse that never goes out of style. The staff was wonderful, so attentive and kind, and the food was nothing short of delicious. Even the bread service, with fluffy sourdough, herb butter, and cinnamon butter, is perfect!

Please note Tanglewood is one of my PR clients. I spent the weekend at the resort on a personal holiday (a friend’s bachelorette trip) and loved this meal so much, I just had to share it with all of you!

Appetizers

We ordered several appetizers for our group of six: coconut shrimp, spinach artichoke dip, and truffle fries. I already knew Tanglewood had delicious fries but I was the most excited about the coconut shrimp, which absolutely delivered with thick, juicy, crispy shrimp dipped in a sweet and spicy sauce, but it was the spinach artichoke dip that blew me away.

I will dream about this spinach artichoke dip. It’s a must-order item! The dip is a creamy blend of gouda, spinach, artichoke, and cream cheese served with crunchy crostini. Words cannot even describe how incredible this dip is and it’s quite a generous portion, making it the perfect app to share.

The Drinks

This might be the best lemon drop I’ve ever had. The bar tender, Julie, is shaking up some of the best cocktails in north Texas at Tanglewood! The cocktail menu is the same in the Tower Whiskey Bar as the restaurant and everyone commented the night before that the Tower served up one of the best old fashioned drinks they’d ever tasted too.

Not everyone in our party drinks alcohol and it should be noted that the staff was extremely accommodating and kept making fun mocktails!

Dinner

For the main course, I ordered the herb grilled salmon. Since our wonderful server Jace nailed it with the lemon drop suggestion, I asked him which sides to choose and he did not steer me wrong. The grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes were phenomenal with the salmon, which was served with a lovely garlic butter sauce.

The Marry Me Chicken with sun-dried tomatoes is also a popular new dish! Someone even told me it is the best chicken dish they’ve ever eaten.

Dessert

You absolutely have to save room for dessert! I opted for the lava cake, which is incredibly rich and chocolatey (exactly how I like my desserts!) but one of my friends was kind enough to give me a bite of the crème brûlée and all I can say is wow! I even ordered the famous carrot cake to try the next day and it was so moist and delicious.

Breakfast

Lakeside Restaurant also serves breakfast on the weekends. We opted for the all-you-can-eat buffet (a reasonable $18), which included adorable Texas-shaped waffles, an omelet bar, potatoes, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt, and a plethora of pastries, donuts, and bagels.

I’m so glad we chose to celebrate at Lakeside Restaurant. Huge shoutout to Tina Bible and the whole Tanglewood team for hosting us!
