The Terrace at The Buccaneer

The Terrace at The Buccaneer

Watching the sunset over the Caribbean while sipping a delicious Tiki-themed cocktail, I thought: The Terrace at The Buccaneer is what a vacation restaurant should be. There’s live jazz, a great menu, and a vibe that screams classic Caribbean elegance.

We started with the mussels, which had a fantastic broth and soft French bread to soak it all up. It’s a light, flavorful appetizer that leaves plenty of room for dessert, but more on that later!

There are quite a few festive cocktails on the menu to choose from. I was very pleased with the Caribbean Sunset, a refreshing tropical cocktail made with light and dark Cruzan rum, freshly squeezed lime juice, pineapple juice, and Disaronno amaretto topped with grenadice.

For the main course, I ordered the airline chicken with roasted potatoes, broccolini, and carrots. It was at The Buccaneer years ago that I first ate airline chicken, a discovery that proved quite useful, as I now order it whenever I see it on any menu. The Buccaneer’s version is nice and juicy with crispy skin and a lovely lemon-caper pan jus.

Irene ordered the pork chop, which was incredibly moist and topped with a tasty apple-fennel compote. For dessert, we split the rum cake, a light dessert that’s heavy on caramel flavor.

The Terrace is also open daily for breakfast. The buffet is complimentary for hotel guests and includes a variety of dishes including salmon quiche (my favorite), eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, donuts, a fruit and granola bar, oatmeal and grits, and more.

Happy eating,
