What a lovely thing the first chill of fall is, especially after a long Texas summer. It’s not chilly enough to warrant a jacket – or even long sleeves – but at least the morning was cool enough to take a long walk through the park nearby. Gabby, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (and star of Little Gabby Books), was ecstatic. She jumped around like a fluffy ballerina when I asked, “Should we go to the park?”
