Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Fudge Sauce

Delicious over ice cream, brownies, crepes, and more!

I adore mint and chocolate. It’s one of my favorite flavor combinations. This luscious dark chocolate mint hot fudge sauce has the most wonderful texture – not too thin, not too thick – and isn’t overly sweet.

This hot fudge sauce takes just a few minutes to make and keeps in the fridge for months. I have a jar of homemade hot fudge in my fridge at all times and almost always have brownies in my freezer so that if anyone ever drops by unexpectedly for dinner, I can always make an elegant ice cream sundae.

This sauce is perfect served warm over ice cream sundaes or as part of my Mint Julep Brownies, which I served at my Kentucky Derby Party. It would also be delicious on a dessert waffle or drizzled on a milkshake or over cheesecake. Enjoy!

Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Fudge Sauce | The Rose Table

Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Fudge Sauce
2/3 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
5 oz semi-sweet Ghirardelli chocolate, finely chopped, divided
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp mint extract

  1. Combine the cream, corn syrup, sugar, cocoa, and 3 oz chocolate in a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer on low, stirring, for 3 to 5 more minutes after everything has melted.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in butter, mint extract, and remaining chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  3. Cool for about fifteen minutes. You can keep the leftovers in a jar in the fridge for several months. Delicious over ice cream!
