Mardi Gras Dinner

Mardi Gras Dinner Ideas

I absolutely adore Mardi Gras because I love the food, colors, and jazz! I had so much fun setting this table and talking about Mardi Gras dinner ideas with CW’s Morning After.

When I think Mardi Gras, I think purple, green, and gold so that’s the color scheme that I went with. I chose a purple tablecloth, gold chargers, shiny green napkins pulled through gold cuff napkin rings, and gold flatware. For the flowers, I mixed alstroemeria in a variety of colors with green carnations. What I love about this arrangement is it’s super inexpensive (those are two of the least expensive flowers you can buy!) and they last for a long time. I had this bouquet on my table for two whole weeks!

I happen to have a colorful candle display for the centerpiece but in the past I’ve also used my King Cake Cupcakes on a cake plate as a centerpiece. The final touch is the fabulous mask I bought in New Orleans, Mardi Gras beads, and some votive candles.

I served my favorite Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and Hurricanes. Other favorite Mardi Gras dishes are Chargrilled Oysters, Bananas Foster Cake and King Cake Doughnuts.

P.S. I know this is a little late this year thanks to the Snowpocalypse BUT save this page for future Fat Tuesday celebrations.

Huge thank you for Ron and Jenny for having me on the show and to Andy for the BEST footage!
