Is this not the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen?! I saw this Mickey Mouse Ice Mold on William-Sonoma’s website and I’ve never bought anything more quickly. I just had to have it! It came with a set of two molds and is very easy to use. Just fill the Mickey molds with water, snap the lids on, then set in the freezer. They molds even stack on top of each other!
Side bar: This would be the perfect Christmas gift for a Disney lover!
I ran the mold under warm water for about fifteen seconds and the the ice popped right out. I squealed with delight at the sight of Mickey Mouse ice. Any way that I can make my house feel like Disneyland, I love. This is a sure way to put a smile on any Disney lover’s face.
Simple syrup is very easy to make. I usually make it while my coffee is brewing, that’s how fast and easy it is. I always have simple syrup in the fridge. Plain simple syrup keeps for weeks in the fridge and mixes so nicely into drinks.

Mickey Mouse Old Fashioned
1 tsp simple syrup
3 dashes Angostura bitters
Mickey Mouse ice
2 oz bourbon
1 Amarena cherry
Optional: a splash of water or more syrup to sweeten to your liking
- To make the Mickey Mouse ice: fill Mickey Mouse ice mold with water just below fill line. Close container and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- To make simple syrup: combine equal parts water and granulated sugar in a small sauce pan. Cook over medium-low until sugar has completely dissolved and liquid is clear. Store in a jar in the fridge.
- To make the drink: Mix simple syrup and bitters in an old fashioned glass. Add Mickey Mouse ice to glass. Top with bourbon and give it a stir. Add a cherry. Give it a taste and add a splash of water or more syrup if you prefer.
