’Tis the season for milk and cookies! I don’t know about you but I’m all about holiday baking and it’s prime cookie season, folks! Just call me Mrs. Claus because I happen to be a major milk lover. I cannot, cannot, have a slice of chocolate cake or a chocolate chip cookie without milk, so when a2 Milk® asked me for helping spreading some Christmas cheer with them this year, I jumped at the chance.
What does A2 mean exactly? Regular milk contains both A1 and A2 proteins. a2 Milk®, available at Walmart, is real milk that comes from cows who only produce the A2 protein. a2 Milk® sources all of its VICs (Very Important Cows) from local farms in the US and every farm that a2 Milk® works with is certified for humane treatment of their cows. I LOVE that because y’all know how much I support local farmers on a weekly basis and I had no idea I could do that with a2 Milk®.
This holiday season, every a2 Milk® purchase will directly supportToys for Tots through the Upgrade Your Holidays promotion. Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks started Toys for Tots in the 40s when his wife Diane made a few handcrafted dolls to give to children in need. She asked her husband to deliver the dolls to an organization that supported underprivileged children. He told her couldn’t find such an organization and she said, “Start one!” How awesome is that? To date, over 604,000,000 toys have been distributed to over 272,000,000 children through Toys for Tots since 1947. (Fun fact for my Disney-loving reader: Bill’s friend Walt Disney designed the very first Toys for Tots poster!) I’d say Diane certainly got her wish to help a few…million children.
The creamy, velvety taste of a2 Milk® will make St. Nick swoon so don’t forget a nice cold glass of a2 Milk® for Santa when setting out his cookies this year! As for my Christmas cookie recommendations, I highly recommend Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies, Homemade Rocky Road, Maple Gingerbread Men Cookies, White Chocolate Lemon Bars, Russian Teacakes, and Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Cookies. Cheers to that!
