Looking for an easy chocolate dessert to feed a crowd? Make my Peanut Butter Cup Trifle!
This delicious chocolate trifle consists of fudge brownies, chocolate pudding, pillowy whipped cream, and chopped peanut butter cups layered together for one spectacular dessert. Yum! It’s gorgeous, easy, and delicious.
The beauty of trifles is that they’re wonderful made ahead of time. You know how I feel about make-ahead desserts! They’re an entertainer’s dream! This dish is delicious the minute you make it but it really just melds together and becomes one the next day.
If you don’t have a trifle bowl, don’t fret! Use a large glass bowl or make mini trifles with mason jars, martini glasses, etc.
I used a whole bag of standard Reese’s but you could also use mini Reese’s or even dark chocolate Reese’s. You could also use this same recipe with a variety of chopped candy bars, making it a great recipe to use up leftover Halloween candy.
Peanut Butter Cup Trifle
1 pan of brownies, cooled (I used Ghirardelli)
2 packages chocolate instant pudding
4 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 bag peanut butter cups
- Bake brownies according to package directions. Let cool.
- Mix pudding and milk according to package directions. Set aside.
- Beat heavy cream with a metal whisk in a metal bowl until it starts to thicken. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
- Roughly chop peanut butter cups. Layer crumbled brownies, pudding, whipped cream, and chopped peanut butter cups in a large bowl. Refrigerate for at least two hours to set.
