Sensorio Paso Robles is a must on your next visit to SLO Cal! The immersive light exhibit by artist Bruce Munro is absolutely stunning. Photos and video don’t do it justice. The nighttime exhibit is so popular that’s it’s grown exceptionally in the few years that it’s been open. In fact, a new exhibit is opening this spring – as if I needed another reason to book another trip to Paso Robles!

What is Sensorio?
It’s an immersive walk-through experience that currently has four exhibits but will soon have more! There’s the first exhibit, called Field of Light, which includes over 100,000 lighted spheres on stems that gently change color. Imagine a field of tulips that glow!

Then there’s the Light Towers with 69 towers made up of over 17,000 recycled wine bottles. The towers glow as fun music plays all around you. It’s fabulous!

The two newest additions are Gone Fishing and Fireflies. The solar exhibits sway gently in the wind and look a bit haunting against the night sky. The path then loops back around for an entirely new view of Field of Light.

How much time do you need at Sensorio?
Well I can tell you than one hour is NOT enough. You’ll want an hour at least to properly experience the walk-through art installations. It’s about a two mile walk around the various exhibits but it’s a pretty easy, flat walk.
We’re told that sunsets at Sensorio Paso Robles are amazing so the truly organized will get there at open to watch the sunset, eat dinner at Sensorio, and then walk through the exhibit after.
What are Terrace Tickets?
You want Terrance Tickets, trust me. The Terrace is the best seat in the house! With cozy fire pits, an airstream bar, and the most spectacular view of the lights, you’ll want to curl up by the fire and hang out all night long.

Is there food at Sensorio?
Yes! There’s a restaurant, bar, and food trucks at Sensorio, as well as several wine airstreams set up throughout the property. We’re told the Mexican food truck is excellent!

Final Thoughts
Photos don’t do Sensorio justice is because it’s more than beautiful: it’s a whole feeling that surrounds you when you’re there. There’s a quiet elegance to Sensorio that pulls you in. You won’t want to leave. Plan to stay for the evening, enjoy a glass of wine, and let yourself be immersed in the real Emerald City of light that is Sensorio.
