Wondering what summertime at The Harbor is like? Keep reading! My cute little lakeside town is famous for its picturesque Harbor district. When my German visited Rockwall many years ago, they said, “This looks just like Spain!” I’ve never been to Spain but I’ll take their word for it.
When Visit Rockwall invited me to spend a fabulous evening out on the water and enjoying one of the numerous free concerts offered in the City of Rockwall, I jumped at the chance and couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!
Where is Rockwall?
Rockwall is about twenty miles east of downtown Dallas. The Harbor is the first thing you see and what a sight it is!
Aperitivo at Giovanni
My bestie Irene and I arrived at The Harbor earlier to enjoy an Aperitivo at Giovanni. It was quite breezy and lovely so we sat outside and enjoyed sangria and calamari. You gotta love Giovanni’s killer happy hour deals!
Sail With Scott
Next up we ended down to the water to embark on a cruise aboard the Seawolf. I absolutely adore Sail with Scott. It’s one of the best things to do in Rockwall! The crew welcomes you with warm Texas hospitality as you cruise around Lake Ray Hubbard aboard a beautifully appointed catamaran.

Wine & Charcuterie
Don’t mind if I do enjoy some wine and charcuterie on the water! You’re welcome to bring your own picnic aboard the Seawolf. We thoroughly enjoyed our adorable charcuterie packs from Grape + Gouda Charcuterie and local wine from Club Jeroboam by He Wines She Dines.
We even got to nosh on warm cookies from Tiff’s Treats before docking just in time for the concert.
Concerts by the Lake
If there’s one thing Rockwall is known for, it’s the Concerts by the Lake series. Every summer the City of Rockwall offers a series of free outdoor concerts at the Harbor on Thursdays. This week was a Taylor Swift tribute concert. Picnicking on the lawn is encouraged, or you’re welcome to get a table at one of the many waterfront restaurants.
