To celebrate Memorial Weekend, my friend Rachel and I had the loveliest staycation at the Warwick Melrose Dallas and I thought y’all would like to hear about it! Originally called the Melrose Hotel, this historic property is oozing with character. If you love beautiful architecture and appreciate the classics, you will love this timeless hotel.

Accommodations
Our spacious room surprised me! The photos really don’t do it justice. The room had two beds, a desk, two comfy chairs, a large TV, a changing area, and a white marble bathroom.

Though the sink area didn’t have that much counter space, fear not! There’s a little vanity area with a stool and mirror and the closet is stocked with robes and slippers.

The beds are extremely comfortable; I slept like a rock until the crazy Dallas storms woke me up.

The Library Bar
We spent Friday night at The Library Bar. Inside is dark and moody and sexy. It’s really the perfect date spot! Note: the website said that jazz started at 8:30 but the music actually didn’t start until 9 pm and one gal we talked to said the music always starts at 9 pm.

We split a prime rib taco, crab cake, caesar salad, and french fries. The cocktails were incredible; my Winning Mark drink was so good that Rachel ordered one for her next drink but I moved on to an old fashioned, which is one of the best in Dallas.

Le Spa
We were warmly greeted by the spa manager as soon as we walked into the door. Le Spa overlooks the pool area and offers massages, facials, body wraps, scrubs, pedicure, and more. Warwick Melrose Dallas hotel guests get 20% off spa services so don’t miss out!

The rose robes were fantastic. I should have bought one. We enjoyed spa water, seaweed shots, and hot tea in the relaxation room before and after our treatments.

My massage therapist was excellent and it couldn’t have been better timing for my Relaxing Ritual Massage after the snake-on-the-jet-ski fiasco the week before.

We enjoyed a eucalyptus steam and then cleaned up in the beautiful gold and marble showers before heading down to the pool for some summer fun in the sun.

Pool
Relaxing by the pool was really the whole purpose of our Memorial Weekend staycation and it did not disappoint. We ordered some frosé and grabbed a pair of chaise lounges.

We loved the caesar salad so much the night before that we each ordered a chicken caesar wrap to enjoy pool side and it was delicious. It came with fries, thank goodness, because the Warwick just might have the best fries in Dallas! Why aren’t more people talking about this!?

I started Kevin Kwan’s new book and literally gasped seven pages in. After lunch and a couple hours of reading, we hopped in the sparkling pool and swam for at least an hour. I admit, I got a bit sunburned but it was worth it. What a fabulous afternoon in the pool!

The Landmark Prime Rib
We eventually got cleaned up and headed back downstairs for dinner at the newly reopened steakhouse: The Landmark Prime Rib. I was delighted to see the spacious, glamorous dining room, as I was just discussing how many Dallas restaurants stuff their tables way too close together. Not at The Landmark!

The chandeliers, artwork, and flowers were absolutely love. My jaw dropped when they brought me a French 75 in the prettiest champagne flute I think I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. This is the kind of luxury I want at a steakhouse.

We kicked things off with the spicy ahi tuna crudo, the perfect light starter if you don’t want to ruin your appetite.

I absolutely adored my filet mignon: perfectly cooked, a bit smoky, and melts in the mouth. The addition of herbed butter, mushrooms, and loaded mashed potatoes was just perfect. 10/10 in my book!

We split the strawberry cheesecake for dessert, which really went above and beyond as far as garnishes. There was whipped cream, fruit, a blue chocolate leaf, and edible gold!

Breakfast
There isn’t a Starbucks or quick service stand at the Warwick, but they do offer room service or you can order the night before and pick breakfast up at the front desk. On Saturday, I got a bagel with smoked salmon and shredded egg and on Sunday, I ate the eggs benedict (I’m sure none of you are surprised by either order!) at The Landmark, which was quite hoppin.’
