I was ill-prepared for how much I would love St. George, Utah. I spent three nights at Inn at Entrada with my friend Morgan on a girls’ trip and we could not have loved the Greater Zion area more! With first class theatre, art, dining, hiking, and adventures, St. George truly has something for everyone.
Getting There
We flew from Dallas to Las Vegas, which is just two hours from St. George. Be warned though: there is a time zone change between the two destinations. You could also fly directly into St. George; in fact, a new route from Dallas to St. George opens up this September!
Inn at Entrada
The Inn at Entrada is southern Utah’s premiere luxury resort and it’s easy to see why: the golf resort looks like it should be Utahland in Disneyland! It’s “clean as a whistle” as my dad says and has some of the prettiest views I’ve ever seen. Conveniently located just minutes from Tuacahn Amphitheater, Snow Canyon, and St. George, you could easily spend a whole summer at Inn at Entrada. The rooms are beautifully appointed casitas on the golf course complete with washers and dryers and fully stocked kitchens.

There’s so much to do. Of course there’s the championship golf course and country club Entrada at Snow Canyon, plus tennis courts, a pool with a waterfall, a hot tub, a kiddie pool, a fitness center and spa to keep you entertained. The staff is awesome and so warm and friendly – and that’s coming from a Texan!
Entrada at Snow Canyon’s food is great. The restaurant was sadly closed during most of our stay (we visited Sunday-Wednesday during the off-season) but we did get to have lunch at Entrada on our final day plus have smoothies, wraps, and fries poolside one day. Everything we ate at Entrada was phenomenal, especially the hummus and butterscotch pot de creme.
Dining
Xetava Gardens Cafe
Pronounced Zay-Tah-Vah, this garden restaurant has fresh food with wholesome, local ingredients. Located in the Kayenta Art Village, you can do some shopping before or after your meal! Read my full Xetava review here.
Hawaiian Poke Bowl
This delightful counter-service spot is right in town and serves authentic poke with fun flavor profiles. The owner is from Oahu and missed poke so much that she opened this St. George spot in 2011. I highly recommend the furikake ahi. It’s especially refreshing on a hot day! See the full menu here.
Nielsen’s Frozen Custard
Wow, this custard is creamy! The sky’s the limit as you create your own concrete mixer at this 50’s diner-style custard shop.
Riggatti’s Wood Fired Pizza
This Utah gem serves high quality Artisan pizza prepared in a 700-degree pizza oven. Keep Riggatti’s in mind for takeout, especially if you’re staying in a casita and can easily enjoy the leftovers! Learn more and order online here.
Cliffside Restaurant
The sweeping views alone are worth a trip to Cliffside! The impeccable service and delicious food are really a bonus. Home to the best pasta I’ve ever eaten, we didn’t have a bad bite at this lovely restaurant. Be sure to save room for dessert! Read my full review here.
Things to Do
Red Hills Desert Garden
Red Hills Desert Garden is one of my favorite spots in St. George! The beautifully landscaped botanical garden has all sorts of desert plants, a replica canyon to stroll through, waterfalls, and even dinosaur tracks! You need at least forty-five minutes but could easily spend an hour and a half. The best part? Admission is free! Read my Red Hills Desert Garden article here.
Kayenta Art Village
Just minutes away from The Inn at Entrada is Kayenta Art Village, a collection of artisan shops, studios, a theatre, a desert garden labyrinth, a spa, and Xetava Gardens Cafe. A great place to buy souvenirs and sample the local art scene, check the schedule to see if Kayenta has a play or art festival going on while you’re in town. Pioneer Park
What a fun place to spend a morning! The greater Zion area has an array of hiking for all experience levels. There is of course Zion National Park as well as Snow Canyon for adventurers but if you’re looking for the Utah hiking experience that’s a bit less strenuous, check out Pioneer Park next to Red Hills Desert Garden. There’s a pavilion with picnic tables, rock climbing, a fire pit, and beautiful views of St. George. It’s also free so walk up and enjoy! Read my Pioneer Park article here.
Tuacahn Amphitheatre
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tuacahn Amphitheatre. This outdoor canyon theatre is worth a plane ticket! They produce three Broadway-quality shows May-October. Tickets are nowhere near Broadway prices and much of the talent comes straight from NYC. The special effects will blow your mind. Read my article about Tuacahn Amphitheatre here.

- Day 1:
- Arrive at St. George, check in to Inn at Entrada
- Head to Xetava Gardens Cafe for dinner (go early to shop at Keyenta Art Village!)
- Day 2:
- Grab a cinnamon roll at Inn at Entrada
- Wander around Red Hills Desert Garden in the morning
- Go next door to Pioneer Park and work up an appetite hiking
- Grab lunch at Hawaiian Poke Bowl
- Treat yo’self to frozen custard at Nielsen’s
- Head back to Inn at Entrada for pool time
- Get cleaned up and pick up pizza at Riggatti’s Wood Fired Pizza
- Eat dinner in the room while you get ready for the theatre
- See a show at Tuacahn Amphitheatre
- Day 3:
- Spend the day in the pool at Inn at Entrada
- Get cleaned up for dinner
- Head into town for dinner at Cliffside Restaurant and enjoy sweeping views of St. George
- Head back to Tuacahn Amphitheatre for a second show
- Day 4:
- Get a hot stone massage at Inn at Entrada
- Have coffee on your patio and watch the golfers
- Pack up (cry a little because you don’t want to leave)
- Have lunch at The Grille at Entrada (don’t forget the butterscotch pot de creme!)
- Fly home; immediately miss St. George
