2020 Rose of the Year

It’s officially 2020, which means I can finally tell you about the stunning grandiflora that I’ve fallen in love with. Jackson & Perkins sent me a brand new, previously unnamed rose last year to test out and let me tell you: this is one of my favorite roses I’ve ever grown. It’s art in the garden.

Show Your Stripes is a two-toned pink and white rose (and can even look purple in some lighting) and every bloom looks hand painted. No two roses look the same. The blooms are about 3.5″ inches and smell sweetly of citrus. I planted mine along my front walkway to greet guests upon arrival. The buds have that fantastic classic rose shape. Just look at how perfectly the rose opens in the photo above!

Fully open and fluffy

Jackson & Perkins named Show Your Stripes the 2020 rose of the year and it’s easy to see why! Not only is this rose stunningly beautiful, but also disease resistant. I haven’t had any problems with mine in the past year. It’s been an easy keeper. So far it’s fairly compact at about two and a half feet tall.
