Who says a backyard BBQ can’t be pink? I had my friend Thi over for dinner in the garden the other day and ended up setting the cutest pink table and just had to share!
For dinner, I grilled clams, sausage, corn, and bread. I literally tossed everything on my charcoal grill while Thi and I noshed on some fruit and drank rosé (which Thi so thoughtfully brought). So easy! I had butter and sea salt on the table for the corn and bread. The clams had their own delicious sauce, which I also cooked in a tiny cast iron skillet on the grill.
For dessert, I made classic strawberry cupcakes, which were the inspiration behind the pink tablescape. I laid one of my favorite floral runners down the center of the table and had big, dark pink roses in a colorful vase next to the cupcakes. I filled an outdoor pitcher with lemon slices (such a nice touch when entertaining) and water to keep us hydrated on this balmy night.
I used my square plates for the occasion and tied white scalloped napkins with twine, sticking a little calamint sprig in each napkin. There’s something about sitting down and immediately getting a whiff of fresh herbs that’s such a lovely way to start dinner.
I cant’ say I’ve ever done a pink table like this for a girls’ grill night but I absolutely loved it. I hope this gives you inspiration for your own blushing BBQ!
