This is one of my OG recipes. If you came to one of my college parties, chances are you had this dip. It’s only four ingredients, takes mere minutes to make, and is always a hit. It’s an especially nice appetizer in the summer because it’s best served chilled, making it a refreshing snack!
This dip is so easy to make! Just blend sour cream and smoked salmon then stir in capers and dill. You can use hot smoked salmon or cold smoked salmon but personally I prefer cold smoked because it really becomes one with the sour cream. You could even use leftover homemade gravlax if you want to be really fancy!
This dip is best served after hanging out in the fridge for a few hours so the flavors can marry. It’s delicious served with crackers, pita chips, sugar snap peas, and cucumber slices.

Smoked Salmon Dip

1 Tbsp capers
1 Tbsp fresh dill
- In a blender or food processor, combine sour cream and smoked salmon until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a serving dish and stir in capers and dill. Refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.
