If there’s one thing I do really well, it’s chicken wings. I turn positively feral around good chicken wings. I finally came up with a new version of my beloved Baked Honey Chicken Wings that’s perfect for fall: Spicy Maple Chicken Wings!

The wings are seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and baked until mostly cooked through. Then the real magic happens with a buttery, garlicky maple glaze. Add anywhere from 1/8 – 1/4 (even 1/2 if your’e brave!) cayenne powder for a kick.

You won’t believe how scrumptious these wings are! The best part? These wings are baked making them considerably healthier than fried.

Spicy Maple Chicken Wings
2 pounds chicken wings
4 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp salt
3 Tbsp butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/8-1/2 tsp cayenne powder
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 Tbsp fresh rosemary
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Toss chicken wings with vegetable oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Spread wings on a jelly roll sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes depending on the size.
- Turn wings and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
- While the wings are baking, melt butter in a small sauce pan over medium heat, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Reduce heat to low and add cayenne and maple syrup. Whisk until smooth, then stir in fresh rosemary leaves.
- Remove wings from oven and brush with glaze. You should have enough to go over each piece twice – don’t waste any glaze! Return to oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until nicely browned.
