LVE Côtes de Provence Rosé 2018

It was a golden afternoon at The Rose Table when I open John Legend’s rosé at the lake house one lazy Saturday. I was excited to try LVE’s Côtes de Provence Rosé 2018 after being impressed by LVE’s Cabernet Sauvignon a few months ago. The rosé did not disappoint.

This gorgeously hued wine is the softest shade of peachy pink and smells exactly like a freshly baked strawberry galette. The Côtes de Provence Rosé is 49% Grenache, 37% Syrah, and 14% Cinsault.

The best photo of the color of the wine

To me this this wine tastes like peach pie with a lingering crushed strawberry and mango finish. It’s one of those complex wines that gets better with every sip, slowly revealing all of its various summertime notes to you. At $25, it’s an excellent price point.

Rosé, in my professional opinion, is best enjoying outside on a beautiful day and that’s just what I did. I set up my picnic blanket in the shade overlooking the water. I put together a quick little cheese board: crackers, gouda, prosciutto di parma, orange slices, and spicy organic Cajun nuts from Valerie’s Thyme. The sweetness of rosé is just gorgeous with spicy nuts! The picnic was not planned but served as the perfect lakeside happy hour.
